Kullu Convent School is a part of Kullu City which is being run under the aegis of honorable Managing Director of Kullu Convent School, Mr Suresh Kumar. KCS was inaugurated in the presence of Dr. Ram Lal Markanda, honorable Agricultural minister of Himachal Pradesh on 18th of February 2018. KCS is a unit of Kullu Science School, which is amongst the well-known schools in Kullu. The goals and objectives of KCS includes establishment of holistic development, discipline, educational enhancement, motivation and moral values among the students. We aim at creating an environment which will help the young minds to blossom and provide a platform for individual thinking. It has achieved many milestones in academic as well as co-curricular work.
KCS started with 11 numbers of teaching staffs and 3 non-teaching staffs. It comprises of classes pre-nursery to
class VIII with a total of 40 students in very first year.
• As per school academics, continuous efforts are being made to use the CCE format and have been made successful by the dedicated staffs. Extra classes and remedial measures to improve the students were conducted as per requirement.
A host of co-curricular activities have been organized during the year. Every Wednesday, the school participates in the club-wise activities like dance and crafts under the guidance of teachers-in-charge and every Saturday, the students are trained karate by Mr. Narayan Thakur. To promote the competitive spirit and to bring out the talents of the students, they are encouraged to participate in various co-curricular activities. Competitions like drawing and painting, essay writing, recitation, spell bee, diya painting,
declamation, Extempore etc were conducted during the course of the year. Cleanliness and plantation programmes were also observed on Environment day and Gandhi Jayanti. Apart from the above activities, School also focus on the cultural development of every child by celebrating the festivals and important days at school.
PICNICS AND EXCURSIONS
School also focus on creating a healthy relationship between the School staff and the children. KCS, therefore, arrange annual picnic for each class
which is both- a fun day and an educational tour for the children
A health check-up is conducted every year to ensure that the health of every child is maintained. Regular height, weight check-up is done and necessary advices to the students are being suggested from time-to-time.
SPORTS AND GAMES
The school has taken initiatives in the sports arena. We have consolidated the sports activities on the routine basis besides sports meet where almost all the students take part in various games and sports activities. In a nutshell, KCS encourage a child to observe, to explore, to experiment, to prove, to analyze, to confront problems and find solutions.
